PFLAG Santa Rosa/Sonoma County

About Us

Learn more about our chapter

PFLAG is the nation's largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.
A small group of dedicated parents and community members revived this local PFLAG chapter in 2023.

Our support groups and events support families, friends, allies, and members of the LGBTQ+ community in Sonoma County who are looking for information, community, or clarity. We work together to provide a safe and confidential space where community members can connect with others who understand.

We hold monthly support meetings and we organize and participate in community activities furthering equality, affirmation, and respect for all people, inclusive of their sexual orientation, gender expression, and gender identity.

Our board members play a critical role in guiding our chapter’s vision, ensuring we fulfill our mission, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive community. We are here to connect with you one-on-one in between meetings. Please get in touch with us at [email protected].

Sign up for our monthly email newsletter to learn about local activities and resources by sending a message to [email protected].

We post information and updates on our Facebook page – take a look! You won’t need a Facebook account to view the page.

PFLAG Santa Rosa/Sonoma County
What We Do

Provide Support – PFLAG facilitates a monthly in-person support group for parents, family members, and allies of LGBTQ+ people. We are also present at various community events, sharing resources about PFLAG and our work.

Offer Education – We also offer special workshops on topics relevant to the community such as ways to support your trans or queer child and become a strong voice for LGBTQIA+ inclusion. We also cover key legal protections for queer and trans youth, such as anti-bullying laws, non-discrimination policies, and student privacy rights.

Advocate – PFLAG strives to partner with other local and National organizations to educate key decision-makers about the issues that affect our loved ones and families, and to teach others how to use their voices to amplify our efforts toward a more equitable, and just world for the LGBTQ+ community.
